Acushnet - Albert J. Sylvia, age 95 years, of Acusnet, died
September 21, 2021 at home after a period of declining health.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Joseph S. and Maria Almedia
Sylvia, he was a lifetime resident of this area and widower of the
late Celina Santos Sylvia.
A veteran of the U. S. Navy, he served his country during World War II.
For much of his life he was a groundskeeper at Camp Edwards Otis
Air Force Base.
Survivors include his sister-in-law Alice Machado of North Caroline,
is niece Florence Houbre of Dartmouth, his sister Jo-Ann Sylvia of
Connecticut, his nephew Carl Pavao of Fall River, his dear friend
Gail Williams of Fairhaven and the Silva family of Acushnet.
Albert's graveside service will take place in the Veterans National
Cemetery in Bourne on Friday the 8th day of October at 1:45 p.m.
Those wishing to attend should gather at the Wilson Chapel 479
County St. New Bedford at 12:30 p.m. to process to the Cemetery.
Masks are required.
