Mary M. (Doherty) O'Sullivan passed away Sunday at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 94. A life-long Medford resident, Mary was the daughter of the late Edmund and Bridget (Crimins) Doherty. Married in 1951, Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved the company of her family and friends. For many years, she and her family enjoyed spending time at their summer home in the Green Harbor section of Duxbury. A devout woman, Mary was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and was a member of the Ladies Sodality and the Mothers Club. Once her children had grown, Mary embarked on a 20 year career at the JFK Building, with the Department of Health and Human Services, working in the personnel division.
The beloved wife of the late John E. O’Sullivan who passed away in 1995, Mary was the devoted mother of Maureen Feltch of Medford, Paul O’Sullivan of Medford, John O’Sullivan of Duxbury and Julie O’Sullivan of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Jill Donohue, John O’Sullivan, and Lauren Donoghue. She was a proud great-grandmother to Julia, Lily, Patrick, Kevin and Sean. The dear sister of Ann Collins and her husband Richard of Medford and the late Edmund Doherty, Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mary’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday October 8th at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family, Thursday 4 ~ 8 PM.
