Laura Loyce Welch Walters, 74, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Brian Watson officiating. Mrs. Walters will be laid to rest at Eldorado Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 8, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Brian Casey, Jason Walters, Michael Watson, Joe Miley, Jason Gershon and Al Scarborough will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Royce Boone, Bobby Greer, Vone Taylor, Kelly Phipps, Lindsey Evans and Darryl Moore.
Born February 19, 1947, in Tift County, Mrs. Walters was the daughter of the late John Thomas Welch and Fannie Leola Frazier Welch. She graduated from Cook County High School in 1966 and she retired from Walmart after 22 years of service.
Mrs. Walters is survived by her husband, Laurie Leon Walters of Tifton, who she married on May 24, 1968; one son, Kevin and Patty Walters of Tifton; two daughters, Jeannine and Wayne Roberts of Irwinville and Rhonda and Joe Caldwell of Adel; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lou and Freddie Little of Tifton and Dell and Jimmy Gillespie, all of Tifton, Deborah Ann and Danny Nash of Moultrie and Sue and Franklin McDaniel of Hahira; five grandchildren and their spouses, Nicole and Brian Casey, Dustin and Shaynia Taylor, Katelyne and Terrell Pressley, Laurie Walters and Ashley Caldwell and Dakota Nichols; six step-grandchildren, Karah Horner, Kason Horner, Triston Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Noah Caldwell and Nick Caldwell; four great-grandchildren, Jamison Pressley, Jase Pressley, Christopher Casey and Ryleigh Nette Taylor; and her Boston Terrier, Trixie, who was her baby.
