East Sandwich - George M. Smith, age 56 of Boston passed away peacefully at McCarthy Care Center, East Sandwich, MA. Tuesday, September 28, 2021 after a three year battle with cancer. He was born in New Bedford on January 6, 1965, son of George E. Smith and the late Jacqueline (Lynch) Smith.
He is survived by his sister Heather Haggerty and her husband Thaddeus Haggerty of New Bedford, his nephew Timothy Haggerty, his niece Holly Haggerty, his Aunt Marlene Renaud and Uncle Ronald Renaud of Hernando Beach, FL and his Great-Aunt Brenda Darling of Fall River.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Massachusetts General Hospital and the staff at McCarthy Care Center, Sandwich, MA for their excellent compassionate care.
A private ceremony was held for immediate family. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Chapel, New Bedford, MA.
