Evelyn Theresa Blier, 93, of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully Friday, October 1, 2021, in her home. She was born in Lawrence, MA on July 21, 1928, a daughter of Michael and Yvonne (Michaud) Dowe. Evelyn was very active and loved to entertain and make people laugh. For 40 years she enjoyed writing poems to share with her family and friends. She also loved to sing and preform, especially musicals at the VFW and senior center in Londonderry. Evelyn even started her own singing group at the senior center called the Golden Guys and Gals. In addition, she started her own Red Hats Chapter which she named the Classy Sassies. When asked if she would rather cook or clean, her answer was neither, she'd rather dance and sing!
She is survived by two sons, Steven Blier and David Blier; daughter, Linda Young; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Isabelle Dowe and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Leonard Blier, Sr., her youngest son, Leonard “Lenny” Blier, Jr. and her brother, Walter Dowe and sister-in-law Leonora Foster. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. The burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell Street, Methuen, MA. Face masks are recommended for those who are not fully vaccinated.
