Maria Eugenia (Teixeira) Figueira, 87 passed on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Morton Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Madeira, Portugal, the daughter of Jordao Teixeira and Maria (DeJesus) Teixeira. She was the beloved wife of the late Juvenal Figueira.
In 1978, Maria and her husband and their five children moved to the United States to persue more opportunities and raise their children. Maria was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She proudly raised her children and nothing gave her more enjoyment than to have her family together at the dinner table. Maria loved flowers and she was very proud of her flower gardens. She found enjoyment in knitting, crocheting and gardening.
Maria is survived by her children, Honorio Figueira and his wife Terry of Raynham, Leonisa Figueira, Lucio Figueira and his wife Lisa, Sonia Figueira and fiancé Joseph Fournier and Alexandra Figueira and fiancé Tim Brown and her beloved grandchildren Michelle, Nicole and her husband Patrick, Tatyana, Trevon, Luke, Lacey and Nadia, also her great grandchildren Milyana, Nazirah, and Isaac. Maria was the sister of the late Zezinho Teixeira, Manuel Teixeira and Merita Henirques along with several nieces and nephews and extended family Orlando and Judite Correia and Oscar Quental. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Monday, October 4th from 5-7 PM. with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. A graveside service will be at St Joseph Cemetery on Tuesday morning at 9 AM.
