New Bedford, Mary Elvira “Vera” (Dias) Martin aged 80 yrs., passed away Tuesday April 11, 2006 at her late residence . She was the wife of the late Frank C. Martin who died April 2, 1996. Mrs. Martin was the Mother of Sandra Vera Edwards and her husband Michael of New Bedford, Grandmother of Sherri Lyn Edwards and Sean D. Edwards, Greatgrandmother of Devin, Desmond and Darien Jacintho, Sister of Dolores Gouveia and her Husband John on New Bedford, Alda Fernandes of Santa Clara, Cal. And John Dias and his wife Lucinda of New Bedford. She had several Nieces and Nephews.
Mrs. Martin was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of her life, She was a Daughter of the late Joao and Mafalda (Fernandes) Dias, Formerly employed at Aerovox as an Assembler, retireing in the 1970’s . Mrs Martin enjoyed raising two of Her Greatgrandsons, liked to do Crafts, Knitting and helping people .
Funeral from the Perry Funeral Home Saturday at 8 AM with A Graveside Service, 9 AM at St. John Cemetery, and a Pro Burial Mass will follow on Monday the 17th at St. John the Baptist Church at 9 A.M. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 P.M., on Friday April 14, 2006 at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St.
