Worcester: Carolyn F. (Murphy) Kubert, 85, passed away at home on September 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She leaves 5 children- Kathleen MacLeod and her husband John of RI, Stephan Kubert of Worcester, Kenneth Kubert of Leicester, Michael Kubert and his husband Nathan Rozeboom of Seattle, WA and Lynn Protasowicki and her husband Rich of Littleton; 6 grandchildren- Kaelyn and Anthony Kubert, Henry and Abby MacLeod, and Nicholas and Andrew Protasowicki; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Kubert; her son, Paul J. Kubert; and her brother Harold Murphy Jr.
Carolyn was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Harold and Hazel (O'Neil) Murphy. She graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School (Class of 1955) where she studied hairdressing. Once she graduated from the American Cosmotology Association in NYC in 1957, she started her hairdressing career and worked for several beauty salons in Worcester including Denholm’s Hair Salon (Main Street), House of Charles (Portland Street), Gracie’s Hair Salon (Pleasant Street), Larry’s Beauty Salon (Burncoat Street) and Jean-Paul Coiffures (at Burncoat Summit). Carolyn loved bowling and was on the Telegram & Gazette Bowling League and the Polish American Veteran’s Bowling League during the 1980s where she won the New England High Single Roll Offs Championship. She was a member of the Polish American Veteran Auxiliary and Our Lady of Providence Parish. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Paul on Holland America cruises seeing the Caribbean islands, the Panama Canal, and Costa Rica as well as bus tours all through the United States and Canada. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, going to Foxwoods, reading, and telling a good joke. She was proud to be a Friend of Bill W. for 43 years. Carolyn will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew her.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.in Our Lady of Providence Parish. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carolyn's memory may be made to VNA Care of Worcester or to Our Lady of Providence Parish.
