Ronald “Jim” J. Meade, age 95, of N. Weymouth passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 26, 2021. Jim was raised and educated in N. Weymouth. He served in the Navy during WWII and then married his beloved wife, Claire, in 1948. They stayed in Weymouth where they have resided since and created such amazing memories raising their family.
Jim worked for the Hingham Ammunition Depot and the Hingham Shipyard before joining the IBEW local 103 in 1958 where he worked until retirement in 1988. In retirement Jim enjoyed golfing, caring for his home, traveling, and enjoyed cruising. Jim was always looking to teach cribbage to his family and friends and was never one to shy away from a cribbage challenge.
Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Claire Meade (Hanson) and his son Ronald Meade. He is survived by his loving children Dennis Meade and his wife Diana of WA, Stephen Meade and his wife Johanna of Norwood, Michael Meade and his wife Theresa of Hanover, Nancy Gomez and her husband Steven of Rockland, Linda Kelley of Braintree, Joseph Meade and his wife Nancy of Medfield, and Richard Meade and his wife Maria of Waltham, his seventeen grandchildren, and his 20 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Jim on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 4-8pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30am Tuesday Morning for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral Mass which will begin promptly at 10:30am in St. Jerome’s Church located in N. Weymouth. Burial will immediately follow in the MA National Cemetery located in Bourne.
