Mrs. Lois Marie Riley (89), daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine Duffy, was born on June 30, 1932 in Medford, Massachusetts. A lifelong resident of Medford, who worked in AT&T in Boston for years and then worked as a school crossing guard with the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) for over 20 years.
She was married to the love of her life the late William B. Riley. They were married in May of 1957 and enjoyed over 62 wonderful years of marriage. She is the sister of the late Margaret Walsh, Thomas Duffy, and Barbara O’Connor.
She was blessed with three children and their spouses, Christine M. Riley Walsh of Wilmington and her late husband Kevin, William B. Riley and his wife Regina of Medford and Kevin J. Riley and his wife Cindy of Malden. She adored her seven grandchildren; Nelson (Swampscott), Patrick (Boston), Katelyn (Hope Mills NC), Shannon (Hope Mills NC), Meghan (Malden), Bryanne (Chicago, Il) and William (Medford) and her five great grandchildren Alicia, Ayden, Aubrey, Angelo, and Layla.
She enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod with the grandchildren and in Venice, Florida with her husband William. She also enjoyed travelling on many cruises around the world with her friends over the past 40 years. She is survived by many devoted and wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend visitation at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Monday October 4th from 9-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Raphael Church, 516 High Street in West Medford at 11 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
