Paul V. Holthaus of Winthrop formerly of Dorchester passed away on September 23, 2021. He was 90 years old. Paul was the beloved husband of the late Mary Lou (Conley) Holthaus. Born in Boston, Paul was the cherished son of the late John and Susan (Morris) Holthaus.
Paul was a graduate of Boston College High School-Class of 1948. Prior to his retirement, Paul worked for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority for over 40 years as an operations manager. Paul was known as a quiet man, very kind and compassionate. After his retirement, he enjoyed working on cars, reading books, woodworking and spending time with his family. Paul was also a lifelong Reds Sox fan.
Paul was the devoted step-father of Christine Ross and Timothy M. Ross and his wife Susanna all of Winthrop. He was the adored Papa of Jake P. and Alexandra L. Ross. Paul was the dear brother of the late Robert J. Holthaus Sr. of Hingham and the loving uncle of Philip G. Holthaus and his wife Elizabeth of Scituate, Donald L. Holthaus of Boston and Robert J. Holthaus Jr. and his life partner Nancy Lampman of Humarock. He was also survived by his grandnephews Matthew and Damian, grandniece Amanda and many more grandnieces and grandnephews.
