William (Bill) Schultz was born November 4, 1949 in San Mateo, California, and passed away suddenly at his home in Oak View, California on May 31, 2021. He spent his early years in San Luis Obispo County before moving to Santa Barbara. He lived there for several years before settling in the Ojai area.
In December, 2014, Bill retired from his position as a Regional Superintendent with Granite Construction Co., having spent 41 years with the company. He was involved with numerous volunteer organizations, with whom he gave a tremendous amount of his time and energy helping others. He made friends wherever he went and was a well-respected and cherished member of the community.
Bill was an extremely hard worker, both on the job and in his personal life. Still, he found time to enjoy many leisure pursuits, including camping, fishing, hiking, river rafting and skiing. He had a lifelong love of muscle cars, of which he owned quite a few, and his most passionate interest in sports was his beloved Raiders. Bill loved spending time with his family. He always made the effort to attend family gatherings, and always kept in touch with his siblings. He especially enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with his grandson, Mark. He is very much loved, and will be greatly missed, by everyone in his family and all of his many friends.
Bill is survived by his wife Lucie, daughter Megan (Adam), stepdaughters Gina (Bryan) and Natalie, grandson Mark, siblings Jeffrey, Cecilia (Alex), Charlene, Charles (Rita), Edward and James, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews
