Lorraine Julia (Murphy) St. John of Millis passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Thomas Upham House in Medfield. She was the wife of Charles A. St. John who died in 1972.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Bridget (Fitzpatrick) Murphy. She had been a resident of Millis since 1968 and had previously lived in Jamaica Plain.
Lorraine was a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston in 1951 and earned her master’s degree in social work at Simmons College, School of Social Work in 1957.
Upon graduation, she was employed as a social worker for the City of Boston for a ten-year period.
She is survived by her daughter Charlene Devens and her husband John of Millis and her granddaughter Brianna St. John. She was predeceased by her son Charles R. St. John.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass at St. Thomas Church, 111 Exchange St. in Millis on Wednesday, September 29 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Millis.
