My beloved husband of 56 years passed away peacefully at the Elliot Hospital, with his family by his side on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from a Traumatic Brain Injury. Ray was born in Lawrence, MA on December 21st, 1942.
Ray was the ultimate gentleman, humorist, & volunteer, whose family always came first and then his civic duty to town and Country. Ray was an Army Veteran, having served in Germany & Vietnam, and a true Loyal Patriot proud to be part of the Veteran family. Ray was a dedicated member of the Londonderry Lions for over 30 yrs and received the Melvin Jones Fellow, Lion club's highest award. Ray worked in Sales & Marketing at Sanders, Hadco & Dynaco, traveling both here & abroad. Ray was a man of many talents; woodworking was his passion, making cradles & step stools, etc., for grandkids, an artist of sorts painting caricatures of family members. Ray was a golfer, tennis & football player, and a regular handyman.
Ray is survived by his wife Barbara (Bradley) Dion, his daughters, Kristine Gamelin (Brian), Karen Dion-Benitez (Andres), and Lynn Dion. His five grandchildren, Cierra, Nehemyah, Laura, Bradley, Josiah, and one great-grandson, Arlo, brother Richard Dion, and a sister, Marie Coletta. Ray was one of five boys born to and predeceased by parents George & Jeannette (Martel)Dion, his brothers, Donald, Francis, and Robert Dion.
A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 1st at 9:00 AM at St. Jude's Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd. Londonderry, NH & the burial will follow at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH; all are welcome.
