WORCESTER - John A. Sofrin, 73, died Tuesday, September 13, 2021 at his home after being stricken ill.
He leaves a son, Brian Sofrin of Woburn; a daughter, Cynthia Hughes of Manchester, NH; a sister, Pamela A. Tibbetts of Auburn; a niece, Lauren M Tibbetts and a great-niece, Kori B. Hopkinson, both of Webster.
He was born on September 17, 1947 in Cambridge, a son of John A. and Domenica G. (Cordima) Sofrin. He was raised in Billerica and attended the local high school. He lived in Burlington before moving to Worcester many years ago.
Mr. Sofrin was a printer before retiring due to illness. He volunteered at the Worcester County Jail as a minister and also worked at Saint John’s Food for the Poor Kitchen on Temple Street.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Wednesday, September 29, in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Old Worcester Road, Webster. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster.
