Elefteri (Kondakciu) Bratja, 74, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, September 21st surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Stavri Bratja; her two sons, Bledar Bratja and his wife, Arlinda of North Grafton and Vital Bratja of Worcester; her two brothers, Rrapi and Llazar Kondakciu both of Albania; her three sisters, Parashkevi Rikani, Marjana Bano and her husband, Spiro of Worcester and Xhili Bucka; her two grandchildren, Darlene and Mason Bratja; and many nephews and nieces including, Joana Kaso of Mamaronek, NY, Denisa Nasto and Aleksander Bano of Worcester, Aurora Terpollari of St. Augustine, FL and many more in Albania, Italy and the United Kingdom.
Elefteri was born in Kavaje, Albania, the daughter of Jovan and Dhoski (Topanxha) Kondakciu and came to Worcester with her family in 2004. She graduated from nursing school in Albania and had worked as a nurse for more that 40 years. Elefteri will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother an amazing grandmother and as a wonderful aunt. She loved life and her positive energy was an inspiration to all. Her enjoyment of music, reading and cooking gave her great pleasure, but her greatest joy was gathering with friends and family. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
Her funeral is Thursday, September 23rd with a service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street. Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Her calling hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Church.
