John J. Renzullo, of Malden, September 20th. Beloved son of the late James and Ursula (Manzi) Renzullo. Dear brother of Elaine LaVargna and her husband Larry of Malden. Loving uncle of Larry LaVargna of Tewksbury, Lauren Spong and her husband Darren of Sarasota, FL, Marianne Gendron and her husband Greg of Sarasota, FL and Steven LaVargna and his wife Michelle of Tewksbury. He is also survived by grandnieces and grandnephews. John has been a lifelong resident of Malden. He is a graduate of Immaculate Conception Grammar School; Malden Catholic High School and Northeastern University. He was inducted into the Malden Catholic High School Hall of Fame for his accomplishments as a running back for the Class B football 1955 championship team and for being a captain of the track team. John worked for the MWRA for many years as a treatment plant operator. He enjoyed collecting rare coins and stamps and was an avid fisherman. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Friday September 24th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 PM.
