David “DJ” Murphy unexpectedly passed away on September 19th. DJ brought a smile to the face of everyone he encountered. He lit up the room with his huge smile, loud laugh, and infectious energy. DJ was an amazing son, brother, friend, and instructor to many. Most importantly, he was a loving uncle who loved spending time with his niece and nephew.
DJ overcame every battle he faced with confidence and perseverance. He was a fighter. He lost his father when he was a teenager and overcame his battle with cancer. DJ continued to teach, train, and compete in martial arts even after facing life altering injuries and illnesses. He didn’t let anything stop him from doing what he loved and supporting his students.This past August, DJ’s family suffered another great loss when they tragically lost DJ’s younger brother, Moemin.
A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, September 24th, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 to 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
