Manuel Morris, a long -time Medford resident, Monday at Courtyard Nursing Center. He was 87.
Mr. Morris was born and raised in East Cambridge, the son of the late Manuel and the late Anica (Pavao) Morris. A Medford resident since 1950, Manuel worked many years at Hopwood and Globe Metal Refinishers in Malden.
He was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis (Ferrara) Morris. He was a devoted father to Vincent J. Morris and his wife Linda of Medford, Robert A. Morris and his wife Dianne of Medford, Sandra A. DeStefano and her husband Steven of Tewksbury, Geraldine Pompeo and her husband Alfred of Medford, and Judith Sousa of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was a dear brother to Edward Morris of Somerville, Virginia Golinaro of Cambridge, the late Maria Ruggieri, Julia Ricardo, Dorothy Perry, Jessie, Alfred and Joseph Morris.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
