Michael N. Jupin, 78, of New Bedford died September 19, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of the late Rachel M. (Jette) Jupin and Patricia (Swan) Jupin.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Joseph and Doris F. (Chicoine) Jupin, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was formerly employed as a lineman with New England Telephone for 43 years until his retirement.
Mr. Jupin served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed being a father and grandfather, coaching baseball and basketball.
Survivors include his 4 sons, Joseph Jupin of New Bedford, Michael Jupin of Dartmouth, Thomas Jupin and his wife Beth of Rochester and Nicholas Jupin and his wife Lee-Ann of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Jennifer Kulak of Mattapoisett and Danielle Malinowski and her husband Steve of Winthrop, ME; 3 sisters, Pauline Bowcock of New Bedford, Suzanne Tobin of East Bridgewater and Christine Jupin of Fairhaven; a brother-in-law, William Swan of New Bedford; 12 grandchildren, Abigail, Tyler, Colin, Samuel, Elise, Felicity, Owen, Thomas, Lillian, Sarah, Cara and Zachary; several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Christopher Jupin.
His visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 23rd from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to 21 FrienDS c/o Beth Jupin, 102 Williams Way, Rochester, MA 02770. 21 FrienDS is a Down Syndrome support group for families, friends and supporters of individuals who have Down Syndrome.
