Nita Dumitriu, 87, of Worcester died Saturday, September 18th in Bear Mountain at Worcester. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Maria (Florea) Dumitriu of Millbury; a son, Cristian Dumitriu of Worcester; a daughter, Roxana Herzog and her husband, Frank of Millbury; a sister, Beby Serban of Romania; and two grandchildren, Ariana and Michael. He was predeceased by two siblings, Marcela and Dorina.
He was born in Romania the son of Vasile and Ioana (Chiru) Dumitriu and immigrated to the United States in 1984. Nita was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Shrewsbury. He was an avid bee keeper and also enjoyed fishing and being on the water. Earlier in life, Nita enjoyed traveling and going to flea markets. Mr. Dumitriu was a dental technician and owned Able Dental Laboratories, retiring in 1990.
His funeral is Thursday, September 23rd with a service at 10:00 a.m. in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 34 Gold Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. in the church.
