Obituary

WORCESTER-Alice R. (Allaire) Moran, of 10 Circuit Avenue East in Worcester passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, April 9, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Francis S. Moran, passed away in 1980.
Alice was born March 6, 1909 in Worcester to Annie and George Allaire. She was the third youngest in a family of 12 children. She was raised in the French Canadian tradition, spoke French and attended French schools.
Alice was a hairdresser, a vocation she left to be home with her three children.
Alice is survived by her three children: Mary Lou Greenlaw and her husband William; her son Francis S. Moran Jr.: her daughter Kathleen Moran McKee and her husband Lance; and Mary E. Fell, for whom Alice was “like a second mother.” She leaves seven wonderful grandchildren: Ellen Greenlaw, William Greenlaw, Christine Sacane, Francis Moran, Colin Moran, Caitlin Moran McKee, and Emily Moran McKee. She is also the proud great grandmother of Sophie Fugatt, Julian Fugatt, Kelsey Sacane, Jack Sacane, Olivia Sacane, Steven Moran, and Isabelle Moran. She is also survived by her sister, Rita Dion and many nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased on August 26, 2005 by her loving daughter-in-law, Pauline Moran, Wife of Francis Moran Jr.
One word that always made Alice smile was family. Her family was her life and love. This love radiates in all of her family today. The games, songs, stories, walks, books, rides on swings, great dinners, and her wonderful sense of humor are all part of those who knew and loved her. She will be sorely missed, but she will live on in our wonderful memories. Thanks, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, sister, and friend for all of your love and care.
Her family would like to thank all the staff at Summit Elder Care for the wonderful care they gave Alice and the daily help they gave her family. Without them, Alice would not have been able to live at home as she wished. Also, we would like to thank VNA hospice workers who helped ease her final days, at home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Liturgy of the Word at 10 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 PM Thursday in the funeral home.
