Irene E. Bobotas
Retired Polaroid Dealer Services Representative
TYNGSBOROUGH: Irene E. (Petros) Bobotas, age 80, a resident of Tyngsborough for 16 years, formerly of Boston, passed away at her home in the care of her family and hospice on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
Born in Boston on June 28, 1941, she was the daughter of the late George Petros and the late Ariadne (Amirsakis) Petros.
Irene was raised in Boston and attended Boston Public Schools.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Dealer Services Representative for the Polaroid Corporation, where she worked for over 20 years.
Irene enjoyed traveling to Samos Island in Greece to visit family, painting, reading, gardening, the companionship of her cats and dog “Frodo”, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
Irene is survived by her son, Evan Bobotas and his wife Monique of Tewksbury; her grandchildren, Lex M. Bobotas and Jason J. Bobotas, both of Tewksbury; her sister, Stamatia Mavrellis of Northport, FL; many extended family members and friends.
Irene was the sister of the late Evelyn Larson, and Peter and James Petros.
Family and friends are invited to meet at the Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury, MA on Wednesday, September 22nd, at 11:30 a.m. for her graveside committal service. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring her memory may be made to Dana Farber’s Jimmy Fund at www.jimmyfund.org
