Anthony J. Sarcia, of Woburn and former longtime resident of Burlington and West Dennis, passed away September 15, 2021 at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center of Burlington. He was 94 years of age. Anthony was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Capotosto) Sarcia who passed away just two days prior on September 13, 2021. Born in Boston, Anthony was the son of the late Domenico and Elena (Scarpato) Sarcia. He was the devoted father of Leslie J. Ryan of Chicopee and the late Carol A. Sarcia. Loving grandfather of Megan A. Ryan of Wakefield and Michelle E. Ryan of Chicopee. Brother-in-law of Dolores Capotosto of Medford. Brother of the late Rose Ricci, Joseph, Frank, Angelo, and James Sarcia.
Tony was a proud World War II Veteran and a member of the US Army Band. Prior to his retirement, Tony worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW local 103 for 67 years. Not only was he an electrician, but a builder of homes, three of which he built for his family in Wells, Maine, Burlington and West Dennis, MA. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing in West Dennis Beach and especially enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets on the beach.
In his retirement and during winter months, Tony scratch built model sailboats and had a showing of his models in the Osterville and Hyannis Maritime Museums. Tony was a talented man, a musician, electrician, a fisherman, and builder of homes and model ships.
A funeral service for Anthony and Elizabeth will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Thursday, September 23rd, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in their memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
