Mary Alice (Furtado) Goodnow, 53, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away unexpectedly at UMass Medical Center on Sunday, September 12, 2021. She was the loving wife of Robert Goodnow of Shrewsbury.
She was born on May 22, 1968 in Lowell, she was the daughter of Francis W. Furtado of Falmouth, MA, and the late Jean Louise (Brown) Nolan, and stepfather James Edward Nolan, both of whom passed away recently.
She grew up in Lowell and Tewksbury, she received her early education in Lowell, and Graduated from Tewksbury High School with the class of 1987. She was a longtime resident of Tewksbury, and relocated to Shrewsbury with her husband a few years ago. She was an extremely generous and giving person, she loved animals, especially cats, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with close friends and family. She also loved taking motorcycle rides with her husband, and just having fun and living life.
In addition to her husband Robert, and her father Francis, she is survived by her step children John Goodnow and Amy Goodnow, whom she considered her own, her brothers and sisters; James W. Nolan of Maine, Beverly Aiman and her husband, Scott, of Chatham, NH, Greg Nolan and his fiancé Marie Faranna of Salem, NH, Laurajean Beauchemin and her husband, Robert, of Dracut, Tad Furtado and his wife, Annie Wehrli of Conway, NH and John Furtado and his wife, Kira, of Hudson, NH; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
You are invited to her Calling Hours from 3 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA, 978-851-2061. During the calling hours, relatives and friend will be asked to share memories and stories at 6:30 p.m.
Her Funeral Mass will be offered at Saint William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Tewksbury, MA, on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m..
