CAPE CORAL, FL: Jean Lillian (Chaulk) Mugford, 92, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, after a brief illness.
She was born in Cambridge, MA, on May 28, 1929, the daughter of the late Willis N. and Elizabeth (Stickley) Chaulk. She was the devoted wife of the late Reverend Ralph Mugford. She has been a resident of Cape Coral, FL for the past 30 years where she worked as a receptionist for the Women’s Breast Center in the Cape Coral Hospital. She previously lived in Connecticut, New York, Maine and Massachusetts. She spent her formative years residing in Natick, MA, and was a graduate of Natick High School and furthered her education at Northeast Bible Institute.
Jean was the beloved mother of Ralph W. (Maxine) Mugford; Donna (Phil Hodgkins) Mugford; Gail (Mugford) Fanning and Robert Kevin (Sophia) Mugford. She was “Grammy” to Rohn (Ann) Mugford; Jessica (Robert) Mugford; Jennifer Mugford; Sierra Alves; Kristen (Christopher) Aiello; Sheri Fanning; Kasondra Fanning; Susan (Peter) Kauffman; Annie (Nikolaos) Alevras; Jacob Mugford; Samantha Mugford; and Victoria Mugford. She was Nana to her great-grandchildren Coty; Kirsten; Autumn; Serene; Cheyanne; Deven; Emilia; Michael; Madison; and Savanah. She is survived by her siblings Willis J. (Bonnie) Chaulk and Pauline M. (Chaulk) Carlson, sister-in-law Marsha Chaulk and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Rev. Ralph Mugford, her daughter Sherry Lee Mugford, her siblings Dora (Chaulk) Bretz; Arthur W. Chaulk and Warren G. Chaulk.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 6:00 to 9:30 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Her funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11:30 am followed by interment in the Chaulk family plot in Glenwood Cemetery in South Natick.
