FALL RIVER… Thereza (Oliveira) Gillette, 67, of Fall River passed away September 10, 2021, at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Manuel I. and Rosa M. (Frias) Oliveira and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. Gillette was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church. She had over 30 years’ experience as a cook with various restaurants throughout the area and had owned and operated the former Hunger Pains Restaurant. Before her retirement in 2015, she had worked as a Manager of Burlington Coat Factory.
Thereza was always full of life. She could often be found talking walks, cooking, or spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons: Carlton Gillette, Jr. of Florida, Marc Gillette and his companion Theresa Amaral of Fall River and Keith Gillette of Tiverton; her sisters: Tina Travers and her husband Joseph of Fall River, Bella Santos and her husband Antone of Fall River, Marianne Camara and her husband Augustine of Westport; Christine Buchanan of Tiverton; her brother: Manuel Oliveira and his wife Helen of Swansea; her sisters-in-law: Mary Oliveira and Kathy Oliveira, both of Swansea; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Connie Arruda, Louise Frazier, John Oliveira and Joseph Oliveira.
At her request, services will be private.
