Obituary

Geraldine Bloom 1919-2021
Geraldine Bloom, aka “Mrs. Bloom”, was 101 years young when she recently passed peacefully away. She was surrounded by her family in her own home, exactly the way she wished. She was born in Winnipeg, Canada, and moved to the San Fernando Valley at age two. Mrs. Bloom graduated from Van Nuys High School and then took business classes to work as a secretary.
In 1941, she married Curtis Bloom and they had three children, Curt, JoAnne, and Wm (Bill). The family’s favorite outing was camping, either at the beach or in the mountains. In 1982, her husband passed away so she moved to Ventura to be near her children.
Geraldine enjoyed spending time with family and friends, always being the generous hostess and cook. She loved traveling with her family to various places, such as Hawaii, Tahiti, Yellowstone, San Francisco, or Yosemite. She never missed watching the sunset every evening. We will miss her quick sense of humor, positivity, and numerous family get togethers.
She is preceded in death by her mother Dolly, husband Curtis, oldest son Curt, niece Natalie, and nephew Rick.
Mrs. Bloom is survived by two children, JoAnne and Bill and wife Lois, grandson Mitchell and wife Krista, great grandsons: Arlo and Koda; grandson Jeffrey and wife Lori, great grandchildren Dillon, Tawny, and Cameron; and nieces Jackie and Stella and nephew Bob.
Our family would like to thank the Sue Ellen Company for their kindness and support, especially Carmen, who was with us the day she passed.
Family graveside services will be held at the Santa Barbara Cemetery, followed by Mrs. Bloom’s Celebration of Life. She is gone but never will be forgotten.
Arrangements were under the direction of the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura.
