COLUMBIA, SC___On September 9, 2021 Arthur F. Shepard originally from Worcester, Ma passed away at the age of 77 years in Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC. Arthur was born August 14, 1944 and was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Madeline Shepard. He leaves their three children Tammy Benoit and Steven Shepard of Worcester and Michelle Shepard Snyder of Charleston, SC as well as his six grandchildren Chanel Benoit Hastings, James Benoit, Alexandrea Cox, TJ and Shane Snyder and Sierra Shepard. Arthur shared a close bond with each of them and will be missed dearly. He was predeceased by brothers Richard, Butch, Bob and sister Joyce. He leaves his remaining siblings Joseph and Raymond, current wife Connie and several nieces and nephews.
Arthur was a long time firefighter, retiring as a Captain of the Worcester Fire Department at Engine 6, where he was admired and respected by all who served with him. He also served honorably in the United States Army. He loved motorcycles, the casino and walks in the rain. He is remembered for his exceptional leadership, calm demeanor and a great sense of humor. Arthur will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 18, 2021 from 1:30 - 3:30 P.M. in DIRSA - MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester, Ma. Following the service there will be a gathering from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at O’Connor’s Restaurant,1160 West Boylston Street, Worcester.
