Rebecca Joyce Johnson (Becca) passed away, surrounded by family, on September 13, 2021 at her childhood home in Camarillo at the age of 45 after a three and a half year courageous battle with cancer. Becca was born on February 18, 1976 in Camarillo, California to Claude and Deborah Wallace. Becca attended St. Mary Magdalen Elementary where she worked at the rectory with MSGR Hughes before attending Adolfo Camarillo High School graduating in 1994. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in graphic design at California State University, Northridge in 2000.
She worked for many years as an executive assistant for Baxter Pharmaceutical during which time she enjoyed travelling internationally. Most recently she enjoyed her time working with the Ventura County School District.
Becca married her best friend of many years, Steve Johnson in 2009. Together, while residing in Ventura, they had children Blake and Emma, 9 years old. Blake and Emma’s happiness was the most important thing to Becca. She showed them laughter, love, and strength every day, even through her battle with cancer. As a family, with many beloved friends, they traveled to Alaska, Lake Powell, Bass Lake, Big Bear, Palm Springs as well as endless camping trips; her “Happy Place”. She also enjoyed hiking, wine tasting, Santa Anita horse races, and Country concerts.
Becca is survived by her husband Steve and children, Blake and Emma as well as her parents, Claude and Deborah, brothers Claude (Cassie) and John (Emily) and nieces and nephews Brandon, Mary, Sam, Finley, Mason, and Georgia. She is preceded in death by her twin brothers.
The family would like to thank City of Hope, Dr. Fakih, nurse Dawn, and team for always being available, optimistic, and thorough in her care.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 4 to 8pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, September 23, 2021 in St. Mary Magdalen Chapel 2532 Ventura Blvd, Camarillo. Interment will be at 2pm in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
