Bryan R. Kelley
Of Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY: Bryan R. Kelley, age 44, passed away at home on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

He was the much-beloved son of Robert F. Kelley and Louise E. (Marriett) Kelley.

Bryan was born in Houlton, Maine on August 22, 1977.

He attended Tewksbury schools, Austin Preparatory School and graduated from Phillips Andover and Boston College.

During his youth, Bryan excelled in hockey, tennis and baseball. He began skating at the age of 2 ½ and his youth hockey coach nicknamed him “Guy” as in Guy Lafleur. As a youth, Bryan played for the Lowell Junior Chiefs tournament team. At a tournament in Toronto, Bryan scored the game winning goal for the Chiefs in the championship game, which was the first time in the history of the tournament an American team was crowned champions. Bryan’s hockey skill earned him an invitation to the well known the Quebec City Squirt Hockey Tournament, where he was coached by former Boston Bruins players Brad Park and Garnett “Ace” Bailey.

Bryan was an accomplished pitcher, shortstop and center fielder in baseball. As a pitcher, his team won the Tewksbury Major League Championship, and as a shortstop and center fielder, his team won the Tewksbury Senior League Championship.

Bryan continued his hockey play at Austin Prep, where as an eighth grader he made the high school varsity team. Bryan is credited for scoring one of the quickest hat tricks in Austin Prep school history and in his junior year led the Austin team in total points scored. Bryan was also selected as an All Star by the Catholic Central Hockey League. As a member of the Austin Prep Tennis Team, he was voted MVP in his junior year by the Catholic Central Tennis League.
At Phillips Academy he played varsity hockey and tennis and was the #2 tennis player,

Bryan excelled in the classroom and was a member of the National Honor Society at Austin and served as Class Officer. He was truly loved by his fellow classmates and coaches.

Bryan was versed in many music genres and general knowledge, he enjoyed testing his family on music lyrics that his parents loved from the 60s. Bryan was well read and knowledgeable about a lot of subjects including current events.

He enjoyed watching the TV Shows “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune” with his Mom every night. In addition, he loved Les Misérables having seen it many times on stage and could sing all the songs.

As an only child, he enjoyed the companionship of his three dogs. He will be truly missed by his new dog “Buddy” who loved kissing Bryan and snuggling with him. Bryan loved playing fetch with Buddy by throwing balls and chew toys.

Bryan loved the Patriots more than any Boston team and always defended Coach Belichick’s decisions even the loss of Tom Brady. He would have loved seeing the new edition of the Pats.

Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 17, from 9-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Cemetery services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring his memory may be made to Into Action Recovery, P.O. Box 253, Tewksbury, MA 01876
