Daphene Harper Lewis, 88, of Tifton passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. W. E. Fogarty officiating. Mrs. Lewis will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Lewis’ grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born July 20, 1933, in Ocilla, Mrs. Lewis was the daughter of the late Oliver Harper and Montery Lizbey Harper. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Harper, Franklin Harper and Lankford Harper. She retired from Avondale Mills as a winder and she was of the Baptist faith. She loved her family and she loved to crochet.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her children and their spouses, Ricky Lee and Sue Pritchett of Tifton, Elizabeth Ann and Wendell Willis of Sylvester, James Lamar Pritchett of Thomasville, Steve Allen and Tammy Pritchett of Tifton, Loutrelle and Pablo Hernandez of Sycamore and Teresa McLaughlin of Tifton; one brother and one sister-in-law, Donald and Judy Harper of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Martha and James Mullins of Tifton; 23 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
