Obituary

MARLBOROUGH: William T. “Bill” Mullin, died on September 9, 2021 at UMass Memorial Medical Center after being stricken at his residence.
He was born on December 11, 1947 the son of the late Frank J. Mullin and Catherine (O’Brien) Mullin.
Bill was the youngest of five boys and found his niche as a stockbroker on Wall Street at young age of 25. He revered his older brother Frank which led him to the field of Finance. Bill opened his business in the early 1970’s and it was not soon after he became an accomplished broker in the wild world of Wall Street.
In his younger years Bill loved camping. He was an avid lover of nature and loved tobogganing with his grandkids and by himself. His favorite thing to do was taking his kids and grandkids to the Annual St..Patrick’s Day Parade in South Boston. He always was joking around with his quick witted wonderful sense of humor! He definitely had a love for music and nature. He loved The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, and even Tina Turner.
Bill was the devoted father of Dakota Rene Amato and her husband Kyle Christopher Amato of Shrewsbury and Ashley Elizabeth Mullin of Austin, TX. Bill was also a step-father to 2 children, Shannon O’Keefe of Marlboro and Sean O’Keefe of Saratoga, NY. He is also survived by his former wife Melinda (Dietrich) Mullin. Bill loved children which was shown everyday as the years went by with his love for his 3 Grandchildren, Jayden Riley(12), Colton William(7) and Avery Katherine(3). Bill and Melinda were also foster parents to more than 27 children.
His grandchildren absolutely loved their Grandpa. Jayden’s favorite memory of her Grandpa was going to the Discovery Museum as he was also an avid lover of history and science. Colton’s favorite memory was always going to the store with Grandpa, getting the newest model cars and talking about them. Avery’s favorite memory of her Grandpa was wrestling with him and laughing at his funny jokes. Both his daughters joined the Army and as a Dad for his baby girls, he was so proud and scared as hell yet always supported them in every choice they made - even sending a cake for Dakota’s 21st Birthday to IRAQ!! Every single celebration for his baby girl Ashley, he would never fail to miss sending Ashley’s (and his own) absolute favorite candy, Andy’s chocolates, no matter where Ashley was stationed; South Korea being the main residence of her Army life years at a time. If there is a will there is a way, he always lived by. One thing for sure was his passion of living for his kids and grandkids. Bill said he wanted to be cremated because “too many people were dying to get into the cemetery!!!!”
Family and friends are invited to Bella Costa for a celebration of life lunch Wednesday September 15, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
