OXFORD - Marjorie L. “Shorty” (Thompson) Schremser, 93, died Thursday, September 9, 2021 in the presence of her family. Her husband of 65 years, Harold C. Schremser, died in 2012.
She leaves a daughter, Jane Sanders and her husband Harold of Oxford; 4 grandchildren, Kevin Sanders and his companion Denise, Craig Sanders and his wife Heather, Michael Greene and his wife Cindy, and Holly Picard and her husband Taze; 5 great-grandchildren, TJ Picard and his wife Mercy, Bradley Picard and his fiancée Michaela, and Haley, Thomas and Leia Sanders; and a great-great-grandson, Gavin Picard. She was preceded in death by her daughter Joan G. Greene and by her sister Marion Schremser.
She was born on September 14, 1927 in Oxford, the daughter of Joseph H. and Gertrude L. (Sherwood) Thompson and lived here all her life. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1945.
Mrs. Schremser was a homemaker for most of her life. She also worked in sales at Goldstein, Swank & Gordon in Worcester for 5 years.
She was a member of the Oxford Methodist Church. ‘Gramma Shorty” enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren, collecting antiques, playing the organ and occasional trips to Twin River Casino.
Services will be held privately and there are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster.
