Edward Scott Carreiro of Provincetown passed away Friday, September 3rd at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after an illness. He was 55.
Scott was born in Hyannis, the son of the late Joyce [Crowers] and Gerald Carreiro Sr. A life-long Provincetown resident, he graduated from Provincetown High School and attended Johnson and Wales Institute in Providence RI, studying culinary arts. Upon his return to town, he worked at his family’s restaurant, Tip’s for Top’n, for a number of years.
Scott was a passionate person and loyal to his family and friends. He truly loved his son, Coty and dogs were a close second! He enjoyed cooking and always used every pan in the kitchen! Writing poetry, listening to Classic Rock and watching football, especially the Dolphins were also some of his joyous times.
Back in the day he was known for rollerblading through town, playing basketball and spending time on the beach. Boston cream pie was his favorite dessert. Of late, he most liked taking runs through town and catching some beautiful photos on his phone.
Scott is survived by his son Coty Carreiro of Provincetown, a brother, Gerald Carreiro Jr of Wellfleet and his close friend Molly Benjamin, also of Provincetown. He also leaves his aunt and godmother, Beverly Ferreira of Provincetown along with other family members, cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 14th at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 11 Prince St, Provincetown. Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery.
