Dennis Monroe Eason, 60, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Rickey Wells officiating. Mr. Eason will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 11, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Art Spears, Chris Wallace, Joe Isdell, Jimmy Sumner, Michael Parrish and Shane McMurphy will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Eason’s grandsons.
Born July 14, 1961, in Tifton, Mr. Eason was the son of the late Grady Eason and Pauline Harper Eason. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Mackey Eason. He was a forklift operator at Delta Galil in Tifton. He was the lead singer of two bands, R-U-Kra-Z and Soul Intent. You never saw him without his cowboy boots, cowboy hat and John Lennon shades. He loved being Papa D to his grandchildren. He loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturdays and NASCAR on Sundays.
Mr. Eason is survived by his spouse, Wendy Barnes of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Briana and Matt Spires of Nashville; one son and daughter-in-law, Sabastian and Kaleigh Eason of Rome; one sister, Kathy Eason of Soperton; one brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Susan Eason of Ty Ty; four grandchildren, Andrew Flowers, Seth Spires, James “JD” Eason and Judah Eason; along with several nieces and nephews.
