Charles Watson, 86, of Ashburn passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Tift Regional Hospital.
Charles was born in Worth County on December 25, 1934 to the late Alex and Ethel Moore Watson. He was a farmer and earned the 1983 Farm Family of the year. He was a member of Dakota Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Charles also served as a Gideon. He loved all sports and enjoyed hunting, especially quail. More than anything Charles loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Nella Watson of Ashburn; sons, Allen (Jackie) Watson of Ashburn and David (Monica) Watson of Ashburn; grandchildren, Clint (Lindsey) Watson, Chip (LeAnn) Watson, Clay (Jessica) Watson and Amanda (Eric) Hughes; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Watson, Connor Watson, Adley Watson, Cole Watson, Carlee Watson, Addison Watson, Bowen Watson, Caleb Hughes and Cohen Hughes.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Irene Kennedy, Alma Meservey, Edna Ward, Izona Alligood and Avis Wiggins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 10, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
