Obituary

Peter Jay Dussault, age 71, of Medford passed away on Sunday, September 5th, at Chelsea Soldiers’ Home. Raised and educated in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Edmund J. and Elizabeth (Thorne) Dussault. Peter proudly served aboard nuclear submarines while in the Navy from 1969 to 1972. After completing his military service he settled in Medford where he married and raised a family, later serving as an officer with the Medford Police Department. Peter was a self-made man and proud of rising from challenges in his youth to becoming a business owner, but his greatest achievement was winning the love of his wife and children, who are all successful in their respective careers.

Peter was the beloved husband of Betsy (Gaudet), and the devoted father of Peter Dussault Jr. and his wife Claudia of Melrose, David Dussault and his wife Gwen of Stoneham, Amy McNamee and her husband Peter of Middleton, and Joseph Dussault and his wife Constance of Chelmsford. He was the loving grandfather of Matthew, Daniel, Catherine, Caroline, Michael, Haley, Stephen, Jack, James and Jane, and the dear brother of the late John Dussault. Peter was the cherished uncle of Jonathon and Andrea and their children. He is also survived by many loving family members and friends.
