Michael Leonard “Mike” Conger, 65, of Tifton passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Oaky Grove Church in Berrien County with the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. Mr. Conger will be laid to rest at Oaky Grove Church Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Zach Tucker, Steve Tucker, Vaughn Webb, Jayce Hathcock, Tege Floyd and Jeremy Hathcock will serve as pallbearers.
Born May 11, 1956, in Tift County, Mr. Conger was the son of the late Nelda Jane Blount Conger and the Rev. Leonard Conger. Before retiring, he was the head machine operator at Kelley Manufacturing Company in Tifton. He loved airplanes, music and going to the beach. He was an aviation historian and cherished his model airplane collection. He attended Oaky Grove Church in Berrien County.
Mr. Conger is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rhonda Robinson Conger of Tifton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jason Conger of Valdosta and Jamie and Ashley Conger of Fitzgerald; five grandchildren, Lexi Conger, Belle Conger, Zoe Conger, Bodhi Conger and London Conger; and a close, family friend, Donna Williams of Valdosta.
