Obituary

Paul John Kilgarriff, 82, of Norwood, Ma, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 6, 2021, formerly of West Roxbury for 61 years. Loving son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Lohan) Kilgarriff of Galway, former owners of Kilgarriff’s Cafe in Jamaica Plain; brother of Ann (Kilgarriff) Samson of Westborough; Thomas "Buddy" and wife Janice of Marshfield; Eileen (Kilgarriff) Cecca and Robert of W. Harwich; and Joan (Kilgarriff) Shields of Norwood. Paul earned his law degree from Suffolk University and was attorney for the Irish Social Club. He was also an active member of the Holy Name Church in West Roxbury, participating in the Holy Name Society, Holy Name Parish Council, Eucharistic Minister and usher. He was also active previously in the Holy Name CYO. Paul was founder and past president of the Parkway Boys Club in the early 1970’s. He was chairman of both the Irish Holy Ghost Committee and African Missions (SMA Fathers), coordinating various fundraiser events. He was Deputy Asst. Atty. General, under Atty. General Robert Quinn. Along with these other achievements, he was candidates for both Boston City Council (1967) and State Rep (1970). He was a member of Reynolds-Hanafin-Cooley Branch of Comhealtas Ceoltoiri Eireann. Paul was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Friday, September 10th at 9am. followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Name Church at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8pm.
