Cathy C. Ray, 54, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday morning, September 6, 2021, at 1:30 AM, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Big Creek Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Eugene Maddox officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 PM until 3 PM, at the Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Ray was born February 7, 1967, in Bibb County, Georgia, to Dale Young Breyfogle of Fitzgerald and the late Jack Fredrick Clayton. She lived in the community all of her life and was a manager of Brother Charlie’s Thrift Store in Fitzgerald, Ga. She was a part of Brother Charlie’s Rescue Mission serving the homeless and others in the community. Mrs. Ray was a member of New Testament Holiness Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Jeffrey T. Ray of Fitzgerald; a special daughter, Emily Rose Clayton of Fitzgerald; three brothers: Scott Clayton of Fitzgerald, Richard & Billie Clayton of Fitzgerald and Timothy Clayton of Fitzgerald; a step-son, Brandon Ray of Lakeland, Ga. and a step-daughter, Christina M. Rowe of Lake Park, GA. and nine step-grandchildren. Several aunts and uncles also survive.
