Howard Kenneth “Ken” Taylor, 89, of Tifton, originally of Lenox, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Cypress Pond Assisted Living in Tifton. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Taylor at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jay Roberson officiating and with military honors. Mr. Taylor will be laid to rest at Lenox Cemetery at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Cypress Pond Assisted Living in Tifton, Georgia Living and Homestead Hospice.
Born April 14, 1932, in Tifton, Mr. Taylor was the son of the late Jesse Taylor and Euna Pipkins Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Barker Taylor; one daughter, Teresa Williams; one grandson, Breck Ball; and one sister, Barbara Hampton. Before retiring, he was the general manger of BPS Outdoor Services in Tifton. He was an avid golfer and loved the Atlanta Braves and crappie fishing. He was a veteran of the United Army, which he loved, and served in the Korean War. He was a member of Lenox Baptist Church.
Mr. Taylor is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Carl and Nancy Hutchinson of Ocilla and Ronnie Banks of Atlanta; one daughter, Kathy Taylor of Alaska; four grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Christie Hutchinson, Alex Hutchinson, Joey Ball and Duane and Brandy Williams; and five great-grandchildren.
