Surrounded by her loving family, Jean Mary Roach, 78, died peacefully on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the caring wife of Robert J. Roach. Jean was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket and Northern Rhode Island, and the daughter of the late Raymond and Amanda (Renaud) Collins.
Jean was devoted to caring for others. As a Certified Nursing Aid (CNA), she brightened the lives of residents at St. Antoine Residence for over 30 years. Her commitment to her work was nothing short of impressive.
Always active, Jean had several hobbies and pursuits she enjoyed – reading, writing, gardening, bird watching, and current events. Her most treasured times were family holidays and her Cape Cod vacations. She will continue to be cherished by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Jean is survived by her daughters Pamela Blais and husband Russell of Glendale, Jennifer Patrie and husband Rodney of Cumberland, and Nicholas Roach and wife Abby of Providence. She was the step-mother of Sandra Simmler and husband Marc of Uxbridge. She was the sister of Fay Swirk. Jean is also survived by her six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and extended family.
