Mrs. Martha A. (Cronin) Santagate, of Tewksbury, formerly of Andover and beloved wife of Carmine G. Santagate, passed away at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Saturday, September 4, 2021. She was 72 years old.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on October 24, 1948, she was the beloved daughter of the late Daniel J. and Isabel L. (Brunette) Cronin. Mrs. Santagate was employed as a Tax Payer Advocate for the IRS in Andover for many years. She was also the proprietor of Merry Maids in Tewksbury.
In her spare time, Martha enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was a wonderful friend to many people. Above all, Martha was a very devoted wife of nearly 51 years, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Besides her beloved husband Carmine, Martha is survived by her loving children; Gina M. S. and her husband Corey Post of Detroit, Maine and Jeff C. and his wife Christine Santagate of Norfolk, Massachusetts; siblings Kathleen and her husband Joseph Paltan of Londonderry, New Hampshire and Daniel and his wife Beth Cronin of Waynesville, North Carolina. She is also the cherished grandmother "Mersey" of Calista and Wilson Post and Owen and Grant Santagate. Martha is survived by many nieces and nephews and by many grandnieces and grandnephews who affectionately called her "GAM".
Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 4 to 7 PM, followed by a brief service at 7 PM.
