SOMERSET – Eduardo P. Silva, age 72 of Somerset, passed away on Sep. 2, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband to Belmira (Da Silva) Silva. Eduardo would have celebrated his 48th wedding anniversary to his wife on Sep. 15th.
Born in Fenais da Luz, São Miguel, Açores, Eduardo was the son of the late Jose and Maria de Lourdes Silva.
While living in Portugal, Eduardo served in the Portuguese Army, and emigrated to the U.S. from Portugal in 1974. He loved being outdoors, tending to his gardens & grape vines, making his wine, and supporting his favorite soccer team, Sporting CP (SCP). Most of all, Eduardo loved spending quality time with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children: Anna Da Cruz (husband Ruben), Natalie Raposo (husband Christopher), Tanya Amorin (husband Joe), and Tommy Silva (wife Mary) all of Fall River; siblings: Diamantina Pacheco (late husband Jose) of Canada, Maria De Medeiros (husband Manuel) of Fall River, Luisa Brum (late husband Pedro) of Fall River, and Fatima Pimentel (husband João) of Fall River; grandchildren: Brianna Raposo, Caylah Raposo, Arianna Amorin, and Maya Amorin; in-laws: Fatima Fragata, John Da Silva, Anna Ponte (husband John), Manny Da Silva (wife Sandy), and Steve Da Silva; many nieces & nephews. Eduardo was also the father of the late Maria Silva.
Eduardo’s funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, on Friday, Sep. 10th at 8:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Bedford St. at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours on Thursday, Sep. 9th from 5-8 P.M.
