John Edmund “Jack” Gwin, Jr., 93, of Anderson passed away at Community Hospital on September 2, 2021 after a sudden illness.
He was born on March 3, 1928 in Emington, Illinois to John Edmund and Blanche Ada (Blackburn) Gwin Sr.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. He was a plant engineer for 42 years at Emge Meat Packing Company. He was a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene and an avid reader. He especially loved reading his Bible.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Wilma (Swinford) Gwin of Anderson; his daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Jim Goodman of Anderson; a granddaughter, Amanda McCrocklin of Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Meadow and River McCrocklin and their father, Mark McCrocklin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and a brother, Margaret Sisk, Thomas Gwin and Sharon Sininger.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 2:30pm at East Maplewood Cemetery with Rev. Al Dayton officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Daleville American Legion.
Memorial contributions may be given to New Life Church of the Nazarene.
