EAST BROOKFIELD: Sophie A (Wieczorek) Hebert, RPh, aged 82, passed away peacefully at her home in East Brookfield, MA on Monday, August 30, 2021.
She was born in Krakow, Poland, to Michael and Jadwiga (Bando) Wieczorek. Sophie leaves her beloved husband of 52 years, Raynald G Hebert, her siblings, Richard Bors of Framingham, Margaret and her husband Frederick Georgian of Holden, and Arthur Bors of Worcester.
After WWII Sophie came to America at the age of 12 to join her mother. She graduated from Classical High School in Worcester and later from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston. Her career as a pharmacist of 48 years started at Hahnemann Hospital, followed by Monahan Pharmacy, and then at St. Vincent Hospital before retiring. Sophie enjoyed piano playing from her youth. She became an avid traveler. She enjoyed skiing, golfing, reading, cooking, and movie-going. With her husband Ray, Sophie settled in East Brookfield in 1979 and they particularly enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their nearby cottage on the lake at South Pond. She was devoted to her faith and was a member of the Saint John The Baptist Church in East Brookfield. Sophie’s family would like to thank her loving neighbors for their thoughtful and generous care and support.
At Sophie's request funeral services and burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester were held privately. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.
