Lisa M. Segerson, 40, of Derry, NH, passed away on Tuesday August 31, 2021, at her home. She was born on July 14, 1981 in Warwick, RI, a daughter of Laurie (Puzin) Segerson and the late Stephen Segerson.
Lisa was faced with many challenges. After her 10th birthday, she was diagnosed with an extremely rare seizure disorder. This required her to undergo a right hemispherectomy performed by Dr. Ben Carson at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD when she was 12 years old, which left her with paralysis of her left side. After a month long stay in an inpatient rehab, she was able to come home and walk in the house on her own with the use of a cane. Lisa was able to graduate high school on time with her classmates. She attended CCRI while working in the kids care room at the Kent County YMCA. She loved children and really enjoyed her job. She never let her disability get in the way of what she wanted. Lisa always had an amazing laugh and smile. She was blessed to have so many amazing friends who were truly there for her and are attributed to her doing so well. We know she is with Kent again. She also leaves behind her best friend from childhood Monica. She gave birth to two beautiful girls and loved them more than anything. She will be very missed by her Mom who truly dedicated her life to taking care of Lisa.
In addition to her mother of Derry, Lisa is also survived by her two daughters, Adaline and Gabrielle Labossiere, of Rhode Island, her sister, Beth Dufour of North Kingstown, RI, as well as many extended family and friends.
