John Eston Lindsey, 71, of Enigma passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at his daughter’s residence surrounded by his family and his beloved dog, Bones. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Lindsey at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Mount Zion Ministries in Enigma with the Rev. Kenny Kicklighter officiating. Mr. Lindsey will be laid to rest at a later date.
Born June 28, 1950, in Ocilla, Mr. Lindsey was the son of the late James Cecil Lindsey and Flonnie Irene Knowles Lindsey. He worked as a master welder and he was of the Baptist faith. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Lindsey is survived by the love of his life, Elvire Sue Lindsey of Chaserville; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy John and Sara Lindsey of Chaserville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sabrina and Casey Rouse of Sylvester and Tiffany and Adam Murray of Wapakoneta, Ohio; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Diane Lindsey and David and Vickie Lindsey; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mildred Smith and Joyce and Donald Franklin; four grandchildren, Dustin Griffin, Keri Lindsey, Gabe Murray and Angel Murray; and one great-granddaughter, Palmer Jordan.
