Married for 65 years, James and Joan MacDonald have been reunited in heaven. James F MacDonald died peacefully on July 12, 2021 in Zephyrills, Fl under the care of Gulfside Hospice and the loving staff in the Memory Care Unit at RoseCastle of Zephyrhills. Joan (Churchill) MacDonald died peacefully on November 9, 2019 in Conway S.C.
The couple lived in Hanson, MA until 2002 when they moved to Davenport, FL. James was a retired SeaBee Reservist, serving for over 27 years. He was known as a perfectionist among his peers in the carpentry business and retired from the Maintenance Department of the Brockton Hospital.
While the 6Bs were young, Joan was a stay at home Mom and eventually returned to the workforce and retired from K-mart.
Jim and Joan enjoyed traveling, camping and enjoying family time in many different states and countries. Upon retirement they traveled in their RV exploring the United States and eventually settled in Davenport, FL where they spent many hours at Disney, one of their favorite places.
They are survived by their 6 children (who they referred to as their 6 Bs): James (Brad) MacDonald, Retired USN and his wife Lori, Barbara Stone, retired Deputy Chief Hanover MA Fire Dept and her husband Henry, Bonnie Rose and her husband John, Brian MacDonald, Barry MacDonald Retired USN and his wife Mary and Bette Horsington and her husband John.
Jim and Joan are also survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. They were predeceased by their grandson Tyler.
According to their wishes, Jim and Joan will be buried together at a later date.
